A one-half percentage point reduction in the discount rate would increase the valuation of pension benefit obligations by $1.7 million and postretirement health and life benefit obligations by $3.3 million, and the resulting changes in the valuations would decrease the aggregate service cost and interest cost components of annual pension costs and postretirement health and life benefit costs by $0 and $0.2 million, respectively. On June 20, 2023, the Company entered into a Fifth Amendment to the Rights Agreement which (i) increased the purchase price for each one one-thousandth (1/1000th) of a share of the Company’s Series A Participating Cumulative Preferred Stock, par value $1.00 per share, from $18.00 to $160.38, and (ii) extended the Final Expiration Date (as defined in the Rights Agreement) from June 30, 2023 to June 30, 2026.
